The jury was attentive and asked several questions of the judge, they were dialed in, really couldn't ask for more.The jurors are taking media interviews and there are some commonalities- Trp. Bukenik came off as arrogant and petulant. The damage to John's arm, simply did not align with a car strike. Hank Brennan's objections were a problem for the jury. Allen Jackson, demolished the state's case from beginning to end. Hank Brennan, did a decent job in humanizing John to the jury, then Hank, proceeded to run from whatever evidence he had managed to produce. He tore into his own witnesses, including the medical examiner, a lot of question marks in his closing, he came across as whiny, hurt and incompetent. Only because that's reality. Send us a textWeek 7-The Prosecution is struggling mightily, no witness to date has provided any overwhelming evidence of Karen Read’s guilt. Boston Patrol Officer Kelly Dever was a complete and utter disaster. She simply appeared to be lying, why is the only question. This witness actually used the words “False Memory” after saying she saw the Chief of police and ATF agent Brian Higgins for a long time, by themselves. What a S-Show! The week did not get any better for the prosecution as the week proceeded. Hank Brennan the “special” prosecutor, apparently grated on the jury, with his cross examination of Dr. Marie Russell, Officer Barros and Lucky Loughlin, Jurors were reported to be openly rolling their eyes at the prosecution, never a good sign. We finished the week with some substantial forensics from Dr. Wolfe and a laughable cross examination by Hank “Squeaky” Brennan. Corruption is on open display, cmon down! It appears that the Commonwealth has NOT proven the intent factor in the second degree homicide charge. The forensic case against Karen Read is shaky at best. Dr Welcher, an accident re-constructionist  was the last witness called by the Commonwealth, was simply not what they needed. He came off as every engineer at a house party, Know it all, dismissive and insistent. He was forced to admit that he could not determine, on what body part John was first struck, where on the street John was standing, where John O’Keefe’s final resting place was. This case remains an incoherent mess for the Commonwealth. The operation is said to have overseen a 24hr a day crack distribution business, that wrought havoc in Roxbury. He was celebrated as a local hero, while simultaneously decimating the entire neighborhood. Darryl also had legitimate businesses and a thriving "Social Club" in Grove Hall, however it was merely a front for selling drugs. "God's" reign lasted about 4-5 years, making at times $100,000 a day. The organization was ultimately penetrated by a maverick undercover Boston Housing police officer Jeff Coy. Coy and other cops brought the "New York Boys" down and the prison sentences were legendary. Darry Whiting received a life sentence for leading this sprawling criminal organization. She was walking with a friend Halloween night, when a pack of gang members ran them both down and beat them with a tree branch, they were robbed of one dollar and then Kimberly suffered what can only be described as nazi level torture. Kim was stabbed and slashed over 130 times. stomped and kicked countless times, but that wasn't enough for this rampaging gang, six of eight men raped her as well. She was left to die in Franklin Field, Dorchester, Ma. Eight men and boys, members of the Franklin Field Pistons Gangs were ultimately charged. Brian Higgins a highly trained ATF, testified he pulled out and his jeeps's lights would have fully illuminated that very area, yet no body? C'mon.Jen Mcabe's infamous 2:27am "Hos long to die in the cold" google search. During a Daubert hearing, Richard Green revealed that cell phone forensics found that Jen had made 4,560 google searches over the life of the phone, yet only one search had ever been deleted, the "hos long to die in cold" search. Read that again, that search happened and it happened at 2:27am. This is issue settled.In order to find Karen guilty of 2nd degree murder you'd have to believe that Jen Mcabe did "Butt Dial" John 7 times with none of the calls going to voicemail. You'd also have to believe Boston Police Sgt. Brian Albert "Butt Dialed" ATF agent Brian Higgins AND Higgins "Butt Dialed" back!! All the infamous butt dials occurred within an hour of John's homicide. You'd have to ask what are the odds of this happening? The defense expert covered that in recent court documents. Send us a textMaura Murray 21, in 2004 was a junior, studying nursing at University of Massachusetts. She was a well liked, athletic student. On the surface Maura seemed to have it all figured out, however a deeper analysis would reveal multiple areas of concern. Just prior to her departure, Maura seemingly invented a situation with her sister, she later told professors that there was a death in the family, there had been no death. Investigators found her dorm room fully packed up, with a note to her boyfriend, which would cast doubt on their future. Maura got in a one car accident in rural Grafton County, New Hampshire. She apparently had been drinking, she spoke with at least one neighbor who stopped to assist, she pleaded with him no to call the police, they cops arrived and Maura was nowhere to be seen, three months later a local contractor had reported he believed he'd seen Maura, they night she disappeared 4-5 miles away walking in the dark roadway. The defense team highlights new issues with sallyport video, previously sallyport video had been found to have been inverted, new video depicts Brian Higgins at the sallyport, talking on his cell phone, he previously testified, that he was home at that time. Don't forget that previous video handed over by the Commonwealth was missing the crucial 42 minutes, that would have depicted the rear of Karen’s car. The defense also filed a motion to be reimburse the defense team about $13,000, due to the fact that their forensic investigatorhad travelled to Canton, only to discover that the video had been destroyed.
